We bought this Navajo Rug at a Ranch Auction last summer. It had been in the family all this time, on the floor, part of the family and all it's dramas. This stunning Navajo Rug is over 100 years old from 1890; a beautiful example from the Transitional Period. Transitional meaning the Navajo weavers were transitioning from weaving their textiles to be worn to textiles to be used on the floor as rugs. Rug measures 71" long by 55" wide. Rug has recently been professionally cleaned and restored. Colors are strong yet show much variation as the weaver worked through her piece. Needless to say, 100% Native American Sheep Wool. We should all look so good at 125 years old. . . .
